September 2008.
In September, Alex talked even more. It’s delightful, especially some of his sentence constructions. Pronouns were more or less conquered. He tells us what he wants, which is a good thing compared to the years of him relying on us reading his mind. And there aren’t many pictures this month. Maybe he kept us too busy. We also tried potty training again, and had some success, but then a catastrophic lack of interest on his part. So maybe next month he'll engrave that invitation to potty train...

We went to the Wild Animal Park with my mom and Mikey. Alex’s favorite part – playing in the water. Here he is playing with alligator spit.

And here he is playing with other young’uns, in what could be a picture for ethnic diversity. All young’uns seem to like playing together.

The other highlight for him was playing on and in the turtle shell. (It’s really a tortoise, but close enough...) He crawled in, he crawled on...

Alex’s car collection on the desk. This Tuesday, when Grandpa was tending the lad, Alex decided to move quite a few of his cars onto the downstairs desk. Individually. It’s a large desk. He has had more cars on it, but not documented. Generally speaking, he’ll put them on until he can’t reach them anymore. He’ll also arrange them by color or function, so you can’t ‘help’ by putting them on for him. It keeps him busy for hours. Which is okay, especially since when I’m tending him, I can quilt at the table behind him and keep an eye on him at the same time.

As a special treat, Travis allowed Alex to play with one of his Technic Lego sets. I wasn’t there, but I understand that a great time was had by all.
