April 2007.
They say time flies when you're having fun...

Do you see the baby? When he's still and quiet, sometimes it takes a while to find him. That doesn't happen too often, though.

Alex and Grandma Barbara at Extraordinary Desserts. Alex had just finished some extraordinary carrot cake. (We had picked Grandma up from her OLD house, which was the airport.) desserts

garden of eating I had the great idea to coerce Grandma into going with us to the art museum in Balboa Park - to see the photography exhibit that I had been itching to see. Alas, Mondays, the museum is closed, and I didn't check beforehand. Ahhhrk!
But a great time was had in the Botanical Garden. Grandma plucked this leaf to show Alex that he really wasn't that big yet.

At the Easter lily display. Alex had just been here the day before, and so was bored by it. Either that, or he wanted that big leaf that Grandma had set down. Easter exhibit

wet Here's Grandma and Alex washing up after she fed him. We're not sure how his feet got dirty, but he sure enjoyed having them cleaned in the sink!

Look! We have a dog, too! His name's Joshua. He and the fish hover around the same space on mommy's hierarchy (although I feed the fish once a week). (Did you know we had a fish?) the dog

the fabulous cat Alex and the fabulous cat, Caira. They're watching TV together. Or maybe Caira isn't, but Alex is enjoying petting her while he watches Boohbah.

Alex and his duck truck. He regularly puts his rubber duck collection in it, then empties it. Here he's trying to put it over the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. Why? I have no idea. He likes putting things there, though, and then whining until someone retrieves it for him. duck truck

the ugly couch Grandma and Grandpa brought... THE SPIDERMAN COUCH. I told Grandma it could only stay if it was re-covered. So it'll go to *their* house.
But see how Alex and Caira like it?
They also brought some of their cousin JT's cars and car transporter, which Alex was instantly attached to. The cars, the couch, and even Grandpa stayed behind this time. But Grandma will be back once she gets back from Hawai'i.

Alex and his books. He now will sit quietly and read (sometimes). Board books are easiest for him to manage, although he's mighty fond of Go Dog Go! books
